Everybody Every Day
Improve writing…by reading! Children can develop their imagination, ideas and the composition of their writing by drawing upon ideas and language that they encounter in books. Our Reading Challenge encourages pupils to read at home regularly each week.
|Details of how children benefit from stories.|
|Reading Record Slip||Children who have read for at least five minutes, five times during the week should complete the slip and give it to their teacher each Monday. The slips will be placed into a draw for the opportunity to win a book.|
Please talk to your child about their book (storylines, what is happening etc) to check that they understand what they are reading. We look forward to seeing regular reading from children across the school. Our target is summed up by the Reading Challenge slogan: “Everybody Every Day”.
